Kindergarten Teacher Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Teacher shall serve as the primary classroom instructor for students at the assigned grade level or content area.  The Certified Teacher shall plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. The Certified Teacher implements an educational program that encourages student learning and success and is designed to fulfill student potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Classroom Instructor must work closely with other staff, the administration, and other programs of Ash Fork Schools.

Additional qualifications that would be highly desirable include: A minimum of three years teaching experience, curriculum and mapping experience, teacher coaching experience, and reading endorsement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and instructional design, best practices instructional strategies, and measurement of instructional progress.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
  • Knowledge of Arizona school laws, State Board of Education rules, and Governing Board policies.
  • Ability to schedule time and to handle multiple tasks in stressful situations.
  • Commitment to be an advocate of children and public education.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
  • Demonstration of integrity, honesty, and respect for others.
  • The Teacher agrees to integrate the Standards into their instructional practices
  • Declaration of Curricular & Instructional Alignment to the Arizona Academic Standard

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning commensurate with teaching assignment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state of Arizona certified teaching certificate.
  • Ability to qualify for highly qualified teacher status for appropriate teaching assignment.
  • High school diploma or equivalency is preferred
  • Current fingerprint clearance card

Full-Time Special Education Paraprofessional

EXPECTATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES:  Supports the organizations mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors:  excellence and competence, teamwork, innovation, respect, commitment to our community, accountability and ownership.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Educational Assistant shall operate under the Superintendent or designee, within the guidelines established by the local school administration. The Educational Assistant shall be expected to participate in small group and/or individual instruction. The Educational Assistant shall assist as needed with clerical functions, the operation of equipment, preparation of teaching media, and the distribution of supplies. The Educational Assistant shall supervise playground and lunch areas as directed by the Superintendent or designee.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the daily operation of the front office, including miscellaneous clerical duties
  • Correct and prepare student papers
  • Assist in the supervision of groups and individual students
  • Assist in the hygienic needs of students as necessary
  • Operate audio-visual equipment
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials
  • Work with individual children for tutoring, repeating lessons
  • Teach small groups to reinforce learning skills
  • Perform the function of school crossing guard
  • Supervise playground activities
  • Correctly apply district policies and procedures
  • Assure that district discipline and safety guidelines are followed
  • Other duties as assigned by Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is preferred
  • Current fingerprint clearance card
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, both to adults and children
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to operate routine equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively without supervision
  • Open until Filled
