Kindergarten at the museum

For 2nd quarter we focused a great deal on community. Part of our kindergarten standards focuses on what it means to live in a community, what adults do in the community, and what it means to be a good citizen in the community or in the classroom. As we covered these topics we were able to visit the Ash Fork Museum as a field trip. This was a great experience for the students who were also able to meet some community members of the Ash Fork Historical Society. The children learned a lot about our little community and its history. Through this event, kindergarten was able to participate in The Ash Fork Museum open house on Dec 2nd by singing a Christmas song to members in the community. We could not have done this without the amazing parents that took time out of their schedules and voluntarily brought their children to be able to participate. It truly shows how amazing our community is and how we come together to support a cause. The children were able to be a part of something great that many of our community members cherished. This taught the children what it means to participate in community events and how great it is to be part of this special community in Ash Fork.
