Art

Hello Ash Fork Community!  As the new Art Teacher, I’d like to show you what we’ve been doing in the Fine Arts classes so far this year.  Our Art Gallery is located on the second floor of the school.  A basic introduction to The Elements of Art and the Principles of Design began our year.  Our first project was creating a design using the nine different types of “lines.”  (Please see below.)

We’ve created “blown” paintings by dropping a few dots of paint onto a paper, then using a straw, blowing it across the paper.  We learned the thinner the paint drops, the easier the paint moves.  (See below.)

In the style of Georges Seurat, we painted sailboats using pointillism – the application of using “dots” of paint on paper.  Students used both warm and cool colors for their artworks. (See below.)

All of our art projects are tied into the National Visual Arts Standards – Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting.
