What a year it has been!
During this past year, we have taught eighteen new students how to weld and what it means to be a welder. Surprise, it's not all they thought it would be. We had fun lessons and not-fun lessons, beautiful and not-so-beautiful creations. This year, we earned eight entry-level 1G welding and eight AZ TSA certifications. We competed at Welding Thunder and earned a silver award for the student build of the ultimate welding table. After all the lessons and welding practice, the most fun is had when we build metal replicas. Attached are some of the creations made this last month. While it may be fun to be creative and fabricate replicas. The students learn a lot about fabrication, heating metal, welding in all positions, welding different thickness materials, and using all the tools in the shop.
