As we approach the final stretch of the school year we are focused on our goals more than ever. We find ourselves asking if we are on the right track. Are we making the proper adjustments and have we done enough to reach our goals? Sometimes we even second guess ourselves and wonder if we chose the right goal. Most often we end up with a combination of determining factors and questions. This process can be frustrating and discouraging, but in the end, simply having a goal can be most impactful.
Regardless of the type of goal, they are helpful tools that can contribute to positive mental health and resiliency. The simple practice of generating and maintaining goals can have lasting positive effects. Goals can have many different looks and take a variety of forms. They can be simple, grand, short term or long term. One can set many goals or focus on just one. Sometimes they work best when shared with others and sometimes they are meant to be kept private.
With just a little bit of planning and initiative we can build and maintain a growth mindset that helps us to live purposeful and productive lives. To borrow from our Ash Fork Schools mission statement, let's move forward with an attitude that focuses on constant improvement and maybe even a little bit of hope.
