Creating Landscapes

Second graders made a trip to the Highlands Center for Natural History on October 7th.

Students were led by Education Staff on a hike to explore the concepts of water cycle, weathering and erosion.

Students got to create their own landscapes and see how water would affect the surfaces and debris.  They also observed the ground and rocks to see how air, water and time could change rocks or soil.  They finished by painting a water cycle image with a partner.

They enjoyed our time exploring nature in the forest environment!
