Ash Fork School District

In quarter 3 seconds graders have learned a ton. For English and Language, second graders have been doing a lot of writing. They have written responses to literature as well as creating their own stories and characters. They began learning about editing their own writing too. In social studies, the students have learned about geography and map reading.  They also learned some interesting facts about Arizona as a state.  In math they learned about telling time in analog and digital.  Some students are still struggling with telling time on an analog clock and parents can help them by practicing at home. They also learned measuring in customary and metric units. The picture is a math project where students needed to create a creature that was larger than 20cm.  They got very creative and did a great job! This year is going by quickly and it's hard to believe that these kids will be in 3rd grade so soon.
