In March, Ash Fork Middle School toured the YC campus in Chino Valley to learn about their different technical careers. The students learned about agriculture and planting as they visited the greenhouse. They learned about farming and raising fish for food production in the hatchery. They got to use a simulator to drive semi-trucks. They also got to practice climbing electrical poles with the lineman class.
Along with touring YC, the students were given access to Edge Factor. Edge Factor is an online program that helps students explore different careers related to an interest survey. Next year, the students will use Edge Factor more to develop their ECAP (Education and Career Action Plan) and explore career options more in-depth.
