The students in the English language development program have been hard at work doing double time! Between elementary preparing for their Christmas programs and grades 6-12 tackling review for benchmark exams and final projects, all ELL students have been preparing for their spring Azella reassessment that is coming up in February. The students went through an Azella exam bootcamp where they reviewed the computer software utilized for the assessment as well as practicing the very uncomfortable practice of recording responses to questions and prompts by themselves on the computer in academic English. This practice is not heavily weighted on their grades because it is mostly practice for the reassessment but it is still demanding - and all the students really showed up and worked hard. Ms. Cristina, Ms. Acosta and Mrs. Haley are resting up this Christmas break in preparation for gearing all our hard-working students up for reassessment and seeing them shine into the “proficient” category.
