Cyris and Julian

1st Graders have been working on physical distancing not social distancing.  It has been a challenge to keep social interactions between students lively while wearing masks and distancing; however, my students have handled it like champs!  My students love to interact and it is my job to come up with safe ways for them to interact while learning.  1st Grade students are learning to use their hands and bodies to symbolize the content that is being taught in order to retain the information better. I am also using learning strategies that keep students engaged while still allowing space for distancing.  It has been an adjustment for the students and for me, as their teacher, but we are still able to come together and make the most of it in order to learn!
