Students work in elf hats in a machine shop

In this past quarter, the welding shop saw huge improvements in the students’ skills and knowledge. Attention to proper safety etiquette is the most important objective to learn and maintain while in the shop and the high school students have made leaps and bounds in this area. Not only are students making sure to keep themselves safe, but they are also remaining vigilant in ensuring that others around them are being safe as well. With the holiday season concluding the first half of the school year, several students really let their creativity flow and challenged themselves while making gifts for friends and family. Some of these gifts include beautiful metal roses, rebar hearts and “holiday” cactus sculptures. It was a very merry time in the welding shop indeed!
