2nd Grade @ the Zoo

Second grade visited the Heritage Zoo/Sanctuary.  We got to go early in the day while the animals were being fed and before it was too hot.  We saw many animals out and about.

Many animals are indigenous to Arizona that are present at the zoo because it helps with injured or abandoned animals.  Some animals observed were: rattlesnakes, tortoises, javelina, lynx, mule deer, frog/toad and a bald eagle.

2nd graders have been researching different types of animals like amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds.  So It was good to observe these animals up close and personal.   This way we can gain a greater appreciation for the creatures we share our home with.
