Seth Staples ,our superintendent, would like to honor his grandfather, Alt Staples, who served in World War II. Mr. Staples's grandfather fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. During this battle 75% of his platoon was killed. Alt survived the battle and was stationed to watch Japanese Prisoners on the island of Japan. One of his prized possessions was a shell covered purse given to him from a Japanese family for his kindness to the people of Japan.

Lt. Col Philip Laing Son of Vern and Maxine Howington Philip graduated from Seligman high school in1991. He attended Eastern Oregon state College where he enlisted in the Marine Corps reserves as a private. He graduated from college and was commissioned as a LT. active duty USMC. He served 4 tours of duty in Iraq and 3 tours in Afghanistan. He was promoted several times. As a Lt. Col he was battalion commander of the 3rd LAR in 29 Palms , Ca. When he became a Col. Select, he attended the Army War College in Carlise, PA. He graduated with superior graduate rating- top 5% of his class. He is currently stationed in Colorado springs where he works in cyber security while he awaits promotion to full bird Col. Thank you for your service , son! We are very proud of you!

Sherri is new to Ash Fork Schools, but has already proven to be a great asset to our district as she serves in the front office. Sherri is extremely flexible and able to accomplish a host of tasks simultaneously. Sherri has very high expectations for herself and the projects she completes. Thank you Sherri for making Ash Fork Schools great!!

Mrs. Holladay teaches second grade and has become a solid educator that is devoted to doing her best for students. Mrs. Holladay has developed a rich curriculum that includes opportunities for small group instruction, kinesthetics, technology rich, and provides opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom. We are honored to have Monica on our team!

Good day everyone! Our volleyball team will be attending the state playoffs this Friday and will play at Betty Fairfax High School. The address is 8225 S. 59th Avenue Laveen, AZ 85339 The cost is $10 Adult and $5 Student. All Day Pass costs are $15 Adult and $5 Student. Our girls play at 11 am against Rock Point.
